‘Naat e Rasool-Ba ihtiat aqeedat ba chasham e tar kehna’ by Noshi Gillani (نوشی کیلانی), a remarkable Urdu Poetess. This ‘Naat’, a religious poem meant for the poet’s expression of love, reverence and association with the prophet Muhammad(ﷺ) as his follower. It may be equated with the english ‘hymn’; however, a ‘naat’ always carries vaster and richer meanings as compared to a hymn.
The poetess, in this ‘naat’ is entreating upon the prophet(SAW), to bring about some cause or reason which may end on the poetess’ visit to the sacred land of Makka and Madina. She is seeking pilgrimage to the holy lands, situated in Saudi Arabia. The poetess quite boldly tells that it will be an honor to visit the sacred cities and how the dusty clothes and figure of the poetess will be gloried and exalted, if it be the dust of Makka and Madina.
The poetess is sending a message to the prophet Muhammad(SAW) as well as there is a silent prayer to the God Almighty for fulfilling the desires of the poetess.
Roman Urdu of the Naat e Rasool-Ba ihtiat aqeedat ba chasham e tar kehna’ by Noshi Gillani
Ba ihtiat aqeedat ba chasham e tar kehna
Saba Hazoor se hal e dil o nazar kehna
Hisar e jabar main hu aur yahan se bhi hijrat
Main janti hu ke mumkin nahi magar kehna
Main khak e shehr madina pehn ke jab niklun
Tu muj se barh ke koi hoga motbar kehna
Ye arz karna ke aaqa meri bhi sun lejiye
Bajiz tumhary nahi koi chara gar kehna
Apni palkon likhti hu harf e nam e rasool
Muj bhi agya likhnay ka ab hunar kehna
Ye kehna ab to hamen tab intazar nahi
Ke ham karen ge madinay ka kab safar kehna
