Khudi خودی meaning English Urdu:

Though the meaning of Khudi may be referred as:

• Self
• Oneself
• Being
• Self respect

But the concept of khudi doesn’t merely means ‘self’ or ‘oneself’ or even ‘self respect’. Allama Muhammad Iqbal used this word in his poetry and gave it newer heights of meanings. His ‘khudi’ specific poetry reveals a bundle of depths of revelations he made.For instance the verse of Iqbal professes:

 

خودی کو کر بلند اتنا کہ ھر تقدیر سے پہلے

خدا بندے سے خود پوچھے بتا تیری رضا کیا ھے
